Vidra’s Trail Hike
Overview
The Vidra trail starts just after the Plaka bridge. It is a beautiful trail by the river of Arachthos, one of the most lively rivers of Epirus.
The trail (known as A1) starts from the Plaka Bridge in the prefecture of Ioannina and ends at the complex of watermills in Agia Marina and Skoupa in the region of Arta. Our route starts from Plaka’s Bridge and we will reach the village of Platanousa, where we can visit the Eudoxia Winery. At the Winery, you can taste local wines and tsipouro. During our hike, we can stop to swim at Arachthos river. As the path is next to the river Arachthos, we are given the opportunity, in the summer months, to swim in the waters and cool off. Our return will be from the same route where we will end up at the bridge of Plaka.
